Comment 2 for bug 714247

I have the same problem here. This basically makes the Gadu Gadu part of Empathy useless (IM without contact list is not so useful). Since this is the largest IM protocol in Poland (15+ million users) and it is functionally useless I would suggest changing this to medium importance (but that's just me). I should mention I'm not Polish but have friends there and this is the only IM almost all of them use.

It seems to me it doesn't pull down the contact list from the server but the debug output doesn't show much. Let me know if you want the full haze debug output from the session. Here's the relevant portion of the log when creating a test user 111111 :
