Subject: You are just very lucky

The only reason standing close to a TV was ever considered unhealthy was because they used to be CRT, or Cathode Ray Tubes. It was the cathodes that could harm you. Ever since the transition to LCD there hasn't been any negative effects from looking at TV. The only potential problem arising from staring at a screen for a long time is dry-eyes, due to the tendency for people to not blink. That and sleep problems if you fail to moderate your usage.
