Christoph Egger: I read the OFL and the commentary of the FSF at http://www.fsf.org/licensing/licenses/index_html#Fonts but the FSF nor SIL recommend to use it for software, only for fonts.
Ansgar Burchardt: You're talking about the Artistic License 1.0 http://www.perlfoundation.org/artistic_license_1_0 . That license isn't considered as a free software license by the FSF http://www.fsf.org/licensing/licenses/index_html#NonFreeSoftwareLicense, only the version 2.0 http://www.perlfoundation.org/artistic_license_2_0
