This bug is present in Jaunty too. Can this get fixed or can the man page be updated?

jdreed@infinite-loop:~$ tar --checkpoint=100 --checkpoint-action=dot -xf somefile.tar
tar: dot: unknown checkpoint action
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

From the man page:

   --checkpoint-action
          this action allows to specify an action to be executed upon hit‐
          ting a checkpoint. Recognized actions are: dot, echo (the
          default) ...
