Scott, If this is such a significant and fundamental problem, how come it's not affecting every single ubuntu installation out there? or are we the only ones to report it?

I would imagine something like this should be relatively simple to diagnose(not necessary fix) to pinpoint why exactly nfs mount on boot fails?
