This is still present in jammy as debian/patches/debian/UBUNTU-Revert-namespace-be-more-careful-when-handling-namespacin.patch
If we want to keep this as long as there could be an 18.04 that is like 2028 at least.

So AFAIU this bug is actually asking LXD to consider a backport (if possible) to then drop the revert from systemd (all releases).
