i highly suspect some old setting/config left behind:
- use gtkorphan to purge possible unused package(s)
- clean the system with bleachbit (as root; but optin carefully the settings)

and as a reminder, always 'purge' to get rid of old settings which disturb the system and give unexpected troubles.
