Correction, the problem happens with NetworkManager.
I switched to Wicked (to disable NetworkManager) for a short moment so that I can configure the wireless interface (which will be locked if managed by NetworkManager).

No, I do not have NFS/Samba shares. Just a Ext4 partition with / and /home altogether. Do have an encrypted Ext4 mounted at boot at /mnt/extra.
