Glad to hear from you Chris! As I said, fixing time zone and SMB can be done with the same patch, which would replace 01_debian_4.0.patch. The patch is at http://cgit.freedesktop.org/system-tools-backends/patch/?id=e2f49be92354f29aee35d265f02e0743d164c6a5

The other major bug that would have been fixed by 2.8.2 is getting back services-admin. That seems complex to do as an SRU, because that would affect the gnome-system-tools as well.
