Bug Description

Binary package hint: system-config-printer

When one tries to change the printer driver of an installed printer, after choosing a
different driver, the only available button to be clicked in the Printer Properties is the
"Cancel" button. The changes are applied, but it is strange having only that option. The
"OK" button should be available as well. Screenshot attached.

The same goes for configuring a printer. I went back to change the settings on my Samsung CLP-300 and the buttons available were "Apply", "Cancel", and "OK". I clicked "Apply" and it worked, greying the button out, it also greyed out "OK".

You are right according to the Human Interface Guidelines (http://library.gnome.org/devel/hig-book/nightly/hig-book.html#windows-explicit-apply) "Cancel" should actually cancel the driver change. Only after pressing "Apply" or "OK" the change should be applied.
