Comment 23 for bug 807771

So I played a bit more and unfortunately simply switching the theme away from ambiance is not enough since although synaptic started at first it crashed later on when applying changes and could not be started again even after changing the themes again.
Here is a serious of the error synaptic will report to dmesg (mainly error 4 and 5):
