1. When downloading at least 6 packages, click on the "show individual files" flag in the download progress box.

2. The list which opens up has a jerky vertical scroll when a few packages become listed.

This bug effects me also, running the latest version of Edgy. I believe the issue has to deal with the bottom-most package progress bar wanting focus, so it constantly 'fights' the user.

I believe the bug is in the function: void RGFetchProgress::refreshTable(int row, bool append)
in the file /gtk/rgfetchprogress.cc. However, my gtk skills are no where near good enough to fix this.

This bug persists in Gutsy and Intrepid. It seems like every time the table refreshes, it scrolls all the way down automatically. This behavior should only be exhibited when it is already scrolled down completely (so that it follows the bottom of the list as it goes, provided you haven't scrolled it up).

This bug still exists in Karmic. It affects Synaptic itself as well as update-manager with the synaptic backend (i.e., it really is in the synaptic backend). As kooseefoo mentioned, the scroll region is reset to the bottom of the canvas every time the contents are updated. To reproduce, simply install a few packages (at least six), click "Show for individual files" when downloading, and try to scroll up.
