Comment 6 for bug 280395

I was coming on here to file the same bug, and was beaten to it. It should be a simple enough tweak for synaptic to just clear Quick Search whenever Search is opened. The way it is now can be especially confusing to new users, non-computer-savvy users, and oldsters like my dad who uses Linux but is still trying to figure out what "the purple chicken is about" (Pidgin).
