Bug Description

Binary package hint: synaptic

The Synaptic package manager user interface widgets are padded from the edge of the window by several pixels. This is most notable for controls such as the package list, and package description pane. When the window is maximised one must aim the mouse at the scrollbar, rather than rely on hitting the edge of the screen. This behaviour is counter to Firefox and Evolution.

I can confirm this behavior. Thunderbird has a very similar layout but also lacks this border.
