The lock assertion workaround doesn't work here (latest feisty as of comment post time) either.
Following instructions in the changelog:

larry@stig:~$ export LIBXCB_ALLOW_SLOPPY_LOCK=true
larry@stig:/opt/netbeans-5.5/bin$ ./netbeans
