Update: I found an error in my ~/.subversion/servers file: a leftover from some experiments that I did trying to force the use of predefined certificates (trying workarounds for the "certificates bug").

After fixing this config problem, everything works as expected, both with na_neon and na_serf.

Bottom line: the PPA builds seem quite solid.
