Comment 1 for bug 947646

I'm one of the package maintainers from Debian. Unfortunately it took a while to get the package into sid, then testing. Since then, we passed the feature freeze for Precise. I believe this is a low impact package as no other packages depend on it, and it will help people to write more python based applications for asterisk.

I offer up my services to also maintain this package in Ubuntu and with enough package sponsorship become an official maintainer.
