Comment 5 for bug 422304

This morning I walked into my laptop after leaving it on all night. The machine was un-responsive and the screen was blanked/powered off.

I ssh-ed into the box and tried various things (restarting gdm, killing processes, etc) but nothing seemed to work until I killed off the screensaver that was running: lorenz. At that point, the LCD panel on my laptop displayed a (non-responsive) terminal screen, but the widescreen LCD I have attached was still blank.

Nothing else I could do seemed to bring it back, so, from my ssh session, I rebooted the machine. When it came back up, this error was waiting.

I did an update yesterday.
