The new upstream version fixes an important bug that causes qsource-highlight to FTBFS:

No need, that doesn't affect the version in Ubuntu (which wasn't
upgraded for this reason, see bug 518317). There is no other
compelling reason to upgrade.

Yes it affects Ubuntu maverick.
