Search TextBox is visible only in maximized window

When open Ubuntu Software Center, if the window is maximized I can see and use text box (on the upper right corner) to enter search criteria, but if I resize the window the text box disappears.

At this moment I can't attach a screenshot of this behaviour, but everyone can reproduce it.

If instead of maximizing, you drag the window's edge to make it larger, does the search box come back? If so, this may be a duplicate of bug 876653.
