Ok the problem is in the Shared Libraries for Alsa Aplications, you remove this via Software Centers (Presumedly the script for it) it then guts your Gnome display environment and causes a crash.

There is no reason that I can think of, that your ALSA audio functionality, should be tied into GNOME so deeply that it's removal causes your computer to crash.

If it were not for my having set up a KDE as part of my testing, I'd be SOL about now.
I've not had much Linux time under my belt to deal with sort of absurdity with out having a way to get to the web somehow.

I hope you can sort out your removal scripts so the next newbie that does it doesn't run screaming back to winbloz.
