Software centre's cache is not updated correctly (Phatch GUI package is not listed)

The phatch entry in the Software center is the phatch-cli version, which most users would not want. there is no entry for the phatch gui package.

This probably has to do with the fact that the software center does not seem to update its cache correctly. By mistake phatch.desktop was shipped in phatch-cli, but this was fixed in phatch-0.2.3 and phatch.desktop is now installed by phatch. Is there anyway to clear or renew the cache?

You can renew the packages by opening Synaptic Package Manager and refreshing the packages. There is already a bug for cache updation issue. See bug# 466321.

Do you mean "Edit>Reload Package Information"? This does not update the cache for the phatch package, it still lists phatch-cli. I can't see how bug #466321 is related.

This issue seems to have been fixed in the latest development release of Ubuntu.

(A search for phatch returns the package 'phatch' as first result and 'phatch-cli' as fourth.)

I'm running software-center 1.0.3, the latest. I just installed Phatch, and I got the CLI version.

"Please install the graphical user interface package 'phatch' as well."

You say the latest development release has it? Then I'm marking as fix commited.
