Installing Truecrypt only installs a link to a wikipedia article about truecrypt. This means that there is no cross platform functionality as was intended by the truecrypt builders. My only interest in truecrypt is to open and update a truecrypt volume, which is just a data file, not an encrypted disk partition. The Windows version of truecrypt has always handled this flawlessly and is one fine app.

Since I always run Ubuntu in a VM hosted by Windows this bug is only an inconvenience, but would be a serious functionality killer for a Ubuntu only user needing to work with a truecrypt file.
