No, I installed the SSL updates and tried again. It is still giving
the same error. Also I restarted
and tried again. Here is the error again -->

I have the same issue when attempting to pay with my card. The URL I see is not for Chase, it's different:

"Unable to load page"
"Problem occurred while loading the URL https://www.securesuite.net/elan/tdsecure/pa.jsp?partner=724260&VAA=B"
"SSL handshake failed"

Might this be related to 3rd party bank verification processes? Such as when an online purchase is made, should the Ubuntu Software Center be displaying a page to us that lets us confirm the charge is valid?

Additionally, when I select the PayPal option, the lower card entry field collapses to just the PayPal header without any login screen. If I press Review Order at this point, I get a greyed screen. It looks as if a dialogue box should appear, but nothing happens even after waiting more than a minute. The loading icon stops right after displaying the grey screen.

Running Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit, with no proxies set (and set to systemwide, as advised in other threads).

I've also tried the nightly build to see if it makes a difference. Same result.

I get the same error (albeit a different URL):

"Unable to load page

Problem occurred while loading the URL https://secure2.arcot.com/acspage/cap?RID=11120

SSL handshake failed"

This is when attempting to pay via credit card for the game Sacred Gold. I haven't tried any other games or payment methods other than Visa and Mastercard.

Running Ubuntu 12.04LTS 32-bit with all updates.

I believe my bug report may be a duplicate, but I was not having this issue at the time that this bug (1043011) was reported.

I believe that they are closely related enough to be marked as duplicates so I will do that.

Thanks for your bugreport.

This bug is showing ssl issues for multiple urls, it appears like some are working (for me at least) and one does not.
It looks like this is a issue with our usage of the webkit/glib-http component that has a less robust ssl implementation
than e.g. firefox.

I get:
$ gnutls-cli --x509cafile /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt -p 443 verifiedbyvisa.barclays.co.uk
...
- Peer's certificate is trusted

$ gnutls-cli --x509cafile /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt -p 443 www.securesuite.net
..
- Peer's certificate is trusted

But also:
$ gnutls-cli --verbose --x509cafile /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt -p 443 secure2.arcot.com
Processed 160 CA certificate(s).
Resolving 'secure2.arcot.com'...
Connecting to '216.136.151.43:443'...
*** Fatal error: A TLS fatal alert has been received.
