Bug Description

SRU TEST CASE:
1. Launch the current Ubuntu Software Center in Precise.
2. Click the "Accessories" link on the left.
3. Note that the "Accessories" list is shown, but that the "back" navigation arrow at the top left of the window is not activated.
4. Close Ubuntu Software Center.
5. Update to the version of software-center in precise-proposed.
6. Launch Ubuntu Software Center again and click on the "Accessories" link on the left.
7. Verify that the "back" navigation arrow is now active and the "Accessories" list is shown.
8. Click on the "back" navigation arrow and verify that you are returned to the Lobby view.

SRU REGRESSION POTENTIAL:
Regression risk is very low, but it would manifest as the "back" navigation button not returning to the expected view. Try various navigations and each time you click the "back" button, verify that you return to the expected previous view.

---

I open the USC, click on an application and after that I would return on the main page of the software center through the back button but it's disabled.
This occurs only with the first app indeed if I return through the "All software" button and I click on another app back button returns clickable.

I've allegated a screencast to clarify.

Hmm, this is a regression that appears to have been introduced in 5.2.2.

This bug is missing information detailed in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure for it to comply with Stable Release Updates process. Please add a test case for recreating and the regression potential. Once this information is added to all the bugs addressed by the package in -proposed we will approve the upload. Thanks!

Gary Lasker (gary-lasker) wrote :

Thank you, Clint. I'll go through all the bugs for this SRU and add test cases and any other info that is still needed.

Thanks again!

Hello Alessandro, or anyone else affected,

Accepted software-center into precise-proposed. The package will build now and be available in a few hours. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you please change the bug tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not, change the tag to verification-failed. In either case details of your testing will help us make a better decision. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance!

@Clint, all of the bugs for the 5.2.3 SRU should have the correct paperwork now and we should be ready to upload. Many thanks!!

I have verified that software-center version 5.2.3 in precise-proposed fixes this bug per the test case given in the description.
