What truly bothers me about this is the following:

1. Cluttering the home directory is a disorganized practice.
2. The purpose of package management systems like snap is to organize software.
3. Therefore snap violates its own purpose by creating disorganization while it organizes.
The snap system is fundamentally disorganized by design.

I would compare it to a food pantry that throws away food... a police officer who drives recklessly... a dishwasher that cleans the dishes but throws food particles onto the floor... I could go on and on with ridiculous examples of things that do the opposite of what they are supposed to do.
