ERROR: ld.so: object 'libsmc-preload.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (cannot open shared object file): ignored.

# dpkg-query -W smc-tools
smc-tools 1.2.0-0ubuntu1.1
# smc_run ls

all is good.
