David, remember to check with the last uploader before you prepare a merge. That we, we avoid duplication of efforts.

While I was examining the .desktop file that was added in Debian, I noticed that it does not validate with desktop-file-validate. As long as we are already merging the package, I would suggest modifying the .desktop file so that it validates. You can look at the patch I sent upstream to Debian if you need help.

When you complete a merge, it is suggested that you attach the Debian->Ubuntu debdiff, the Ubuntu->Ubuntu debdiff, and the merge changelog entry to the Launchpad bug. This makes it easy for MOTUs to quickly see what changes a merge makes to the debian package, and what Ubuntu changes are being retained/dropped. You should also set the status of the bug report to 'Confirmed', not 'New'.
