After this change:

nvidia-prime (0.8.8.1) bionic; urgency=medium
 - Enable KMS by default

My external displays stopped working.
Ubuntu 18.04 (4.15.0-36-generic), nvidia-390.77, Lenovo ThinkPad P50 with NVIDIA M1000M.
I use Communitheme X session. Disabling KMS restores external displays.
