patch is in latest upstream release vim-7.1. I'll roll a debdiff soon!
Keep in mind, though, that if you want full selection-dragging support, you still have to set ttymouse=xterm2 yourself; the best this patch can do is protocol 1 xterm, until such a time that terminfo supplies a better means for detecting mouse support.
