So while all other GTK/GNOME applications work fine with scim, and the gnome dictionary applet doesn't, it's still scim's fault?
I remember seeing silmilar things in Debian (around GNOME 2.12), and I don't use the dictionary applet anymore.
I can test, on Debian at least, if some GNOME maintainers show interest in fixing this bug. But if such bugs are just reassigned back to scim without any explanation whatsoever, I won't bother, and this bug can rot under scim forever.
