Bug Description
Maybe this bug is the same shown in https:/
I've 2 Canon Lide 100 scanners. Both works well with ubuntu 16.04.
Running them on ubuntu 18.04 it first shows a black bar across the scanned page,
after some updates (apt-get update) it currently shows white and orange bars.
Booting my system with the old installed 16.04 both scanners works well,
running 18.04 both scanners show the black/white/
Reading at bug-report 1731459 that this is fixed in 1.0.27 original, I downloaded
the daily-tar-gz from http://
compile and replace the /usr/lib/
Unfortunately it does not work as describe. Removing this lib, simple-scan could not find
the scanner, so i think a replaced the right one.
This bug is now nearly 9 month old and reported, please Canonical could you fix this !

Description: Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS
Release: 18.04
All Update included since Aug 6. 2018
Followed the instructions from "Gabriel N. <email address hidden>", posted Fri, 05th Oct 2018, =/var".
works fine for me, just changed the ./configure-option from defaults to "--prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --localstatedir
After install the patched libsane1_ 1.0.27- 1~experimental3 ubuntu2_ amd64.deb, do a "ldconfig" and start the simple-scan prog, booting the OS was not necessary.
Both of my Lide 100 now works as expected.
Hope the ubuntu-guys would insert this simple patch in the near time also ...
greetings to all
/chris
