See the bug description there - this bug is fixed, but the fix is not in 12.04.

Sorry you're hitting this. The server side of the Samba 4 package is still experimental but this is a silly reason for it to break.

FWIW I've nominated the fix for #988509 for backporting to precise. It might take a while for this to land in precise-updates though.
