This bug was marked as a duplicate of bug #256238, but it is not. The version of the libpam-smbpass package that you list as installed does not require GLIBC_2.8 symbols. You appear to have a locally corrupted or overwritten version of /lib/security/pam_smbpass.so.
You can verify this by installing the debsums package and running:
debsums -s libpam-smbpass
If this reports a problem, you can restore the package to its pristine state by running:
sudo apt-get install --reinstall libpam-smbpass
If the debsums command does not report any errors, then there is something else wrong with your installation and we'll need to investigate further.
