Can you confirm that the 'zkey enhanecements' mentioned here are the ones we see in the changelog:
2.9.0
- zkey: Add common passphrase options for cryptsetup and crypttab

zkey: Fix auto-detection of clear key bitsize for XTS keys

Presumably yes, since each new version supersedes the prior one, but please confirm.
