Adam,

I installed the test package on a number of machines that exhibited the deadlock before. They have been running OK for several hours. I also wrote up a quick and dirty synthetic test that restarts rsyslog, logs a unique test value, checks that it appears in the local logs, and does it again unless the value did not appear. This has been running for several hours as well. I will check back in later to see if there are any failures.
