Hi Brian,

The latest version of rsyslog (5.8.6-1ubuntu8.5) seems to do the right thing to me.

ubuntu@hloeung-testing:~$ ls -lad /var/spool/rsyslog
drwxr-xr-x 2 syslog adm 4096 Mar 30 2012 /var/spool/rsyslog
