Thanks for the response.
I have tested again.
Using Rhythmbox v0.13.3 on Ubuntu v11.04 (Natty) with all updates installed at the date/time of this comment. System ASUS EEE PC 900. The save directory is set to a location on a CIFS-mounted NAS (Lime Technology UnRaid) running Samba.

When attempting to download the latest podcast from Makezine (http://blog.makezine.com/feed/rss) the following message was given:

"Unable to create the download directory for file:///mnt/bigtower.media/Audio/PodCasts/MAKE%20Magazine_%20MAKE%20Podcast/TEST/Make:%20Online/TYH-plywood-boat.m4v: Error creating directory: Not a directory"

Note the illegal character ":" in the attempted mkdir. The ":" is used by the publisher of the blog in the title of the blog and - presumably - Rhythmbox uses the title as the name of the dir without removing illegal chars.

When the save directory is on the local machine, the download works OK. The bug only occurs when trying to save on the NAS which is cifs mounted. Presumably that's because ":" is a reserved char in windows but not in unix.

Best regards.
