Thank you for your bug report, I don't confirm the issue though and you are the first to report a similar bug, could you take screenshots of the bug too?

Hi Sebastien
I added two screenshots showing my desktop with the Rhythmbox-icon in pause/play mode.
In GIMP, I can see that the CPU-monitors left to the Rhythmbox-icon move by 2px to the left. The Rhythmbox-speaker itself moves by 1px to the left.

it "moves" because that's another icon, one with blue waves which is a bit more big, what would you suggest instead?

yes, I agree that it moves because the Rhythmbox-speaker "with blue waves" is 2px larger than the one "without blue waves".
so, if I change from "play" to "pause or from "pause" to "play", it moves because of the different sizes. during "play" mode or during "pause" mode, it doesn't change it's width. can anyone confirm / reproduce this?

this does not apply to lucid as in Lucid we use indicator-application which has fixed space for each application whether icon change or not

I will close this report for now due to now rhyhtmbox is using indicator-application per default (until Ubuntu Maverick at least). if you encounter that this issue is still affecting you or need more work please reopened again. Thanks in advance

Since Rhythmbox uses the indicator-applet, this is not relevant anymore. This issue can be closed therefore.
