Hello!

Thank you, I was very excited and hopeful, but it didn't work the way you described. Maybe I did something wrong, but I tried at least six times, from scratch, with the same result as follows:

1) Inserted CD ~ nothing happened, as usual these days.
2) Found and left-clicked Rhythmbox in Applications ~ nothing happened (This is also the way it has been working lately. One click gets no response, except when I was just there.)
3) Returned to Applications and Rhythmbox and repeated left-click ~ Rhythmbox appeared upper left of screen.
4) Right-clicked on "Music" ~ "Import File" appeared and I left-clicked it.
5) My file browser opened, I searched everywhere, literally, including Music, and there was no CD or any file that could possibly be interpreted as one. I did notice something disconcerting, and that is that my "Trash" selection seems to have disappeared. Even if it were empty, which it's not, as I deleted a file that was improperly labeled just yesterday, you'd think the folder or whatever you can the Trash would still be there?

Ah, Mysterious technology. So I couldn't follow these instructions:

 "In that file selection box, click on "Audio Disc" (or whatever has a CD icon). Then
 the cd will be listed under "Devices" in the left panel of Rhythmbox.
 You can then click on the cd and its tracks will appear in the playlist
 as expected."

Does any of this help figure out what's still not working? The CD doesn't seem to be able to register anywhere in my files, so I can't find it. Does that mean "Import File" isn't working, or did I not do it right?

Thank you for your patience and your persistence. I would really like to get this thing working!

Just to offer a sort present for the day, here's a quote I found an hour ago on one of my emails:

"Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns;
I am thankful that thorns have roses."

- Alphonse Karr
Have a lovely evening,

Doris
