Still here on karmic too on my computer.

I don't understand why this bug is not fixed. There is already a workaround : enable just one checkbox in the keyboard preferences (Sytème>Préférences>Clavier>Options de l'agencement then under "Utiliser la barre d'espacement pour insérer un espace insécable check "La barre d'espacement renvoie un espace ordinaire à tous les niveaux). Why is this not done by default ?

This bug is here for more than a year, with a solution. I use ubuntu with this workaround for a long time, and I never had any problems. It is clear that no one knows how to fix the source of this bug but the workaround works well, and is just on the french keyboard layout (so it is not dangerous and the risk of regressions is very small).

Rhythmbox is one of the main app of Ubuntu and the french community of ubuntu is important. Could someone just enable this checkbox by default please.
