Indeed rhythmbox stopped crashing. It stopped crashing because Virgin stopped sending information about song name in the ogg stream, because it was crashing the rhythmbox player.

So in my opinion the bug is still there, but Virgin stopped sending the song information in the string to work around the rhythmbox bug.
