Bug Description

Binary package hint: rdesktop

in package rdesktop there is a custom ubuntu patch called 01_paging.dpatch - " Add viewport mode , suitable for small screens."

I don't know what this patch does but is it causes seamlessrdp to stop working "seamless" - meaning the window manager decoration and "frame" is drawn in addition to the native windows application window

the way it's supposed to be is without the WM decoration as if no WM is running , but only the windows app window :)

Thanks.

Same effect on Jaunty with rdesktop 1.6.0-2ubuntu1. In rdesktop compiled from orginal 1.6.0 source seamless mode work fine.

On Ubuntu 9.10 I just installed rdesktop from Debian 5 Lenny and it seems to run fine.

Confirm in Lucid. Can anyone fix this problem??? This huge bug exists from Hardy. And it's only in Ubuntu! And a lot of peoples can't work with RDP because of it. I really can't understand why all users should install rdesktop package from Lenny and nobody of maintainers want to fix this obvious bug in Ubuntu.

The other workaround is to use the package from Debian, see instructions here:

I'm running the Alpha version of Natty Narwhal, and I still encounter this bug!

This bug is still present in Natty. Installing version 1.6.0-3 from debian squeeze fixes the problem (although now I suffer from #309315). Installing version 1.7.0-1 from debian sid does not.

Tried 1.8.3 from linux Mint 18.3 repository. Same problem as described previously. All windows and menus have windows decorations. Impossible to use -A and -D options simultaneously.
