I just tried to reproduce this on several Ubuntu versions.
Newer versions require either '--enable-local-file-access' or '--disable-local-file-access --allow ." for files in the current directory - otherwise the crash situation is hidden.
Having one of this option in place leads to a seg. fault on all Ubuntu releases starting with jammy/22.04 down to focal/20.04.
(Just notice that this is not kernel related, just a wrong package <the linux kernel> was marked as affected, but if it would have been kernel related, we would have asked to reproduce on focal's 5.4 latest.)
