This problem can be fixed at the KDE level.
If Nokia decide they don't want to add our patches, or work on the dialog box themselves, we could make the decision to implement a new KDE printing dialog box which would replace the Qt one. Applications could then move to using the new dialog box.
I'd be interested in looking at doing this.
