IMHO KDEs Windows/OSX ports are a "nice to have" but I can't imagine that these have significant user counts. It's the Linux desktop that draws in the most users, I guess. This is especially true since Gnome2 is dead now.

On the other hand I can't imagine an OSX user who'd mainly use KDE - I wouldn't know what for... The same is true for Windows. I use KDE for Windows only for Kile and I don't care for printing. Under Linux this is a completely different story though.

So I share reescfs concern and I'd really like to know - if it's true - what justifies this stance. Why do the developers think Windows and OSX are so important? Windows and OSX users WILL NOT use KDE as default desktop environment. Don't know about OSX but in Windows one reason for this is that the current implementation suffers from more fundamental flaws like the mediocre installer and unstable runtime.
