I've installed the python-evas package. Lacking detailed knowledge about it, I haven't done any further test. Installation went fine.
regression risk:
current version FTBFS, python-evas is only present in maverick. Current version also has unmet dependencies. Hence I see no risk of regression as the current version is not installable. It also blocks python-ecore from building due to not being installable.
also noteworthy:
The zhone stack [build-]depends on python-evas, as do at least python-ecore.
