are there any difference when using four periods or two periods ?

 1ms at 44100 Hz has 44.1 frames

aplay select buffer size nearest to the selected time

aplay -D hw:0,0 -v --buffer-time=4000 /tmp/fr025.wav

aplay -D hw:0,0 -v --period-time=2000 --buffer-time=4000 /tmp/fr025.wav
