A guy on a french forum had the same problem with hardy.
He describes how did he got sound worknig:
Download:
alsa-driver-1.0.17
alsa-lib-1.0.17a
alsa-utils-1.0.17 install in this order with
./configure
sudo make
sudo make install for each of them
then
sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base and add this line:
options snd-hda-intel model=auto
and reboot
I'm going to try that with the latest version instead...
