Just got this as I attempted to use VLC.
I installed PulseAudio /today/. Karmic AMD64 with custom kernel, everything otherwise up to date.

My error output includes the line:
W: ratelimit.c: 129 events suppressed

129 was just a representative line, the number of events increases as the bug continuous. I managed to kill pulseaudio after a couple of minutes.

No VMs running, no wine apps running...
